As the defenders they had a superior tatical advantage. They did not engage your superior army, they went for the soft target and waited for your assault. Try to be agressive, strategically, but on a tatical level you should be defensive. Learn to use strategic terrain to your advantage. Their main use against small armies will be to strike from cover at the enemy general by using their Run special ability. As Chosokabe you must have an Yari samurai unit at the start. If you have an hard time micromanaging remember you can pause the game, survey the battlefield, issue orders and unpause.Īlways try to kill the enemy general. Katana samurai can make mince meat out of Yari Ashigaru, but even they can't kill them fast enough once you attack them in the flank or rear with another Ashigaru unit.
Two cheap units are almost always better than a single expensive unit.
Since you're playing Chosokabe, your capital, Tosa, can pump out an Ashigaru Spear and an Ashigaru archer unit each turn. Samurai take longer to train, are expensive and have high upkeep. The tutorials might not seem very helpful, but they actually impart some helpful tips and skills.Īshigaru are strong units and they never cease to be useful, so don't immediately go for samurai.
